
Gennaro "Jerry" Fico; died Monday June 15, 2009. He was born in Brooklyn, NY on October 27, 1932. He was raised in New Jersey, Paterson and South Amboy. He enlisted in the Marines from 1951 to 1954, with the 1st Marine Division and served in Korea, with the rank of Sgt. Jerry was of the Catholic faith and employed by the Kimberly Clark Corporation "Paper-Mill" in Spotswood, NJ for 20 years. He moved to Ft. Lauderdale, FL in 1976 and was employed by the City of Hollywood, FL "Water Dept." for 16 years. He retired to Port Charlotte in 1995. He was a life member of the Marine Corp League #756, also of the VFW#5690 and American Legion Post #110 of Port Charlotte.
Jerry is survived by his wife of 54 years, Virginia; daughter Cynthia William Slavicek of NJ; son Gerald Mike Kathie Fico of Pembroke Pines, FL; sister Connie Louis Macri; seven grandchildren and several nieces and nephews and twin great- granddaughters . He was predeceased in death by son Nick Fico and mother Millie Santora.
Visitation will be at Kays-Ponger & Uselton Funeral Home, Port Charlotte Chapel on Thursday, June 18, 2009 from 1:00 to 4:00 PM. Services will follow at 4:00PM. Burial will be on Friday, June 19th at 11:00 AM at Forest Lawn Memorial Gardens in Davies, FL.
