A memorial service will be held on Wednesday March 18, 2009 at 11:00 a.m. at the North Port V.F.W. Post . Burial will be at a later date in Michigan. Lemon Bay Funeral Home Englewood Chapel is in charge of arrangements.
Survivors include his wife of 61 years, Bertha J. Ferguson of Englewood, FL; his sisters Carmen Freeman of Osprey, FL and Jane t Stroud of Houghton Lake, MI.
His daughter, Marilyn David Haas of Lapeer, MI; his grandson, Richard Bray of Westland, MI; his step grandchildren, Noel Cornwell and Tammy Francisco. Hank was predeceased by his parents, George and Gertrude Oakley Ferguson.
Hank is a lifetime member of the Englewood Elks Lodge and a lifetime member of the V.F.W. He was also a member of the American Legion and the Moose Lodge.
He enjoyed playing golf and taught golf at Davisburg Golf Course in Michigan, which was owned by his father. He volunteered for the March of Dimes many years and was active as a cook for charity dinners.
