George J. Lang, of Venice, Florida passed away Saturday February 19, 2011. Mr. Lang was born in Brooklyn, New York to Carl and Cecile (Martin) Lang. He moved to Venice from Toms River, New Jersey. Mr. Lang was a police officer for the City of New York before retiring. He was past chairman of IPA (International Police Association), a member of the V.F.W. Post #8118, a member of the American Legion Post # 159 both of Venice, and a member of Manasota 10-13 in Sarasota and a veteran of WWII serving with the U.S. Army.
He is survived by his wife of 45 years, Dolores Lang of Venice; son, Craig Lang of Port Charlotte; daughter, Barbara Auffret of East Hampton, NY and Scottsdale, AZ; brother, Charles Lang of Lynbrook, NY; sister, Mary Coughlin of Massapequa, NY; 1 granddaughter and 3 great grandchildren and his beloved pets, Sophie and Julie.
