

Gino Abaldo, 89, of Venice, FL passed away January 10, 2017. He was born September 23, 1927 in Highland Park, MI. Gino served in the US Army following WWII (1946-1947) in the Army of Occupation. After this tour, Gino was a bandsman serving in the US Marines in Hawaii. He was honorably discharged from both branches of the military. He was a letter carrier for the US Postal Service for more than 39 years. Gino lived in Michigan, Ohio and Florida. He was a volunteer of long standing at the Suncoast Humane Society Thrift Store in Venice.
He is survived by his wife of 60 years, Mary Abaldo who resides at Village on the Isles, Venice, FL; cousin Dolores Kawsky of Grosse Pointe, MI; niece, Nikki Abaldo and her daughter Monica Sacco, who both reside in Birmingham, MI; niece Ronni Melvin and her two sons, Bryan and Dillon, who reside in Grosse Pointe, MI; nephew, Gino (Beth) Abaldo and family, who live in Yermo, CA and additional nephews and a niece residing in areas unknown. He was preceded in death by his parents, Louis and Nicolina Abaldo and his siblings, Nick and Eva.
There will be no services. Inurnment is at Gulf Pines Memorial Park, Englewood, FL. Those wishing to honor Gino may make a donation to a charity of their choice.
