Aunt Gwen you were the person that brought my family to America. So, when I reflect on my legacy, you will always be a very important part. A few weeks ago, I had an opportunity to hear you call my name in the mist of your mind being foggy. I also was able to sing for you a prayer that your dad, Uncle George taught us as kids, this was his wakeup prayer that he would sing on Sunday mornings during our visits to the country.
He would say, “Breakfast Is Ready” this means we would get on our knees and start to sing.
Down on my knees,
I promised Jesus,
I promised Him,
Down on my knees,
I promised Him,
That I will serve Him,
That I will serve Him,
Down on my knee.
You remembered the song. I love you Aunt Gwen, we miss you. I know where you are now, say hello to Uncle Tom for me.

I have many memories of Aunt G. She was my ex mother in law. She taught me how to cook and bake. She gave me the confidence that I have today. She would always taste test my food and let me know what needed to be added. She taught me how to make the best banana bread, a recipe I still prepare till this day. She was always a great mother in law to me and will always have a special place in my heart. May she rest in peace.

When I was at a very young age,I can clearly remembering my aunt coming from the states around Christmas. She brought this air plane which lights up the wings and cockpit,at times it would stop from cruising and tilt upwards mimicking a takeoff. I was blown away by this gift,I kept this memory close to my heart up until this day and I’m 56 years of age. Aunt Gwen was a very kind and caring person,I will miss her dearly. RIP aunt Gwen. Love Howard!
