
Henry E. Lutz, 87, of Venice, Florida died Thursday March 4, 2010 in Venice. Mr. Lutz was born November 3, 1922 in Detroit, Michigan to Walter and Minnie Mauer Lutz. Mr. Lutz retired from Michigan Consolidated Gas Company after 31 years of service. Mr. Lutz moved to Venice in 2008 coming from Lewiston, Michigan. He was a member of the VFW, American Legion, and a veteran of WWII, serving with the U.S. Navy. Henry liked to fish, golf and hunt with his sons and also with his golfing buddies. He was a great carpenter, pipe fitter and a Jack of all trades and was the top chef at the hunting camp.
He is survived by his wife of 66 years, Nancy Marie Lutz of Venice; sons, William Colleen Lutz, Walter Sandy Lutz; Michael Mary Lutz and James Lutz; sisters, Gertrude Wells and Annette Laige both of St. Clair Shores, Michigan; brother, William Lutz of Palms, Michigan; his grandchildren, Megan Lutz, Joy Lutz, Dawn Carter Younge; Melissa Andy McCrosky; Brian Lutz, Kelly Lutz, Donald and Scott Rollend, Michelle Scott Maliszewski and Christopher and Joseph Lutz; great grandchildren, Arianna, Parker, Preston, Jackson, Kayla, Amanda, Emily, Haley and Ashley. Mr. Lutz was preceded in death by his daughter, Sandra Rollend.
A memorial mass will be celebrated on Monday March 8, 2010 at 10:00 AM at Epiphany Cathedral, Venice.
