Henry C. Milton Jr.

Henry (Hank) Carleton Milton Jr. died on November 29th, 2017 in Port Charlotte, Florida after a brief illness. He was born on March 27, 1936 in Reading, MA. He was educated in Reading and at Lawrence Academy and graduated from Dartmouth College in 1958.

His first job was with Texaco where he worked for over 20 years as district manager in New Haven, CT and Pittsburg PA and in Corporate Real Estate in NYC. In the early 1980s, he purchased Mathews Office Supply in Bridgeport, CT which grew into Mathews Business Interiors, a contract office furniture company, serving the Southern Connecticut market. In 1993, he moved to Bonita Springs, Fl. where he developed Club Projects, a company still in operation, that supplies custom built-in storage units for golf and country clubs nationwide.

When he worked in New Haven, he resided in North Branford where he was active in local politics. After a transfer to Pittsburg he returned to Connecticut and lived in Fairfield where he exercised his love of sports by coaching little league football.

A lifelong sports enthusiast, golf was his passion. He was a scratch golfer who played for his high school team as well as the golf team at Dartmouth. He was a repeated winner of club championships and inter-club matches. He enjoyed memberships at Meadowbrook Golf Club -Reading, MA, Knickerbocker- Tenafly, N.J., Montour Heights - Pittsburg, PA, Brook lawn - Fairfield CT. and Vasari in Bonita Springs.

Hank is survived by his sons, Henry Carleton Milton III, Thomas French Milton and James Milton; by his granddaughter, Kaitlyn Milton and his daughter-in-law, Susan Milton; and by his sister, Deborah Milton Lindner and her husband Robert Lindner as well as his former wife Corliss Darge and numerous nieces and nephews.

A memorial gathering for Hank will be held at a later date, with interment at Puritan Lawn Cemetery in Peabody, Massachusetts. Contributions in Hank's memory to the Cholangiocarcinoma Foundation, which does research to find a cure for Bile Duct Cancer, would be greatly appreciated.
