Henry Rankin

He was born on March 31, 1920 in Huntingdon, Pennsylvania to Marshall Rankin and Elsie Foor Rankin. Henry came to Englewood, Florida from Bishopville, Maryland in 1998, and then to Port Charlotte, Florida. He was an Insurance adjuster for Allstate Insurance Company for 36 years before his retirement in 1991. Henry was a member of the Port Charlotte United Methodist Church and a veteran of WW II, US Army.

He is survived by his wife Betty of 29 years of Port Charlotte Florida, His 2 sons, James (Patricia) Rankin of Gaithersburg, Maryland and Richard "Jerry" (Terry) Rankin of Lovettsville, Virginia; his daughter, Joanne Campbell of Frederick, Maryland and his 2 step-daughters, Donna Markl of Hamburg, Germany and Joyce Stempa of Woodbridge, Virginia, 12 grandchildren and 12 great grandchildren.

Memorial services Wednesday, January 22, 2014 at 3:00 p.m. at Kays-Ponger & Uselton Funeral Home 2405 Harbor Blvd. Port Charlotte, Florida. with Military Honors. Burial will be at Sarasota National Cemetery, on Friday, January 24, 2014 at 12:30 p.m.
