
Howard J. McLean, 68, of North Port, FL died December 26, 2006. He was born March 8, 1938 in Philadelphia, PA. He came to the Charlotte County area in 1992 from Lansdale, PA. Howard served in the US Navy during the Korean War. He worked many years in the glass manufactoring industry in New Jerseyand retired in 1997 as Vice President of an Industrail Market Research company. Howard was a member if the Episcopal Church of the Good Shepard in Punta Gorda.
He is survived by his partner of 24 years, Ken Charles of North Port, FL; daughters, Lisa Joe Merola and Holly Tom Tomer; son, Brian McLean all of Cape Coral, FL; sisters Ruth Pekora and Dolores Pellechia, both of Philadelphia, PA, Jane Fiorelli of Kemptin, PA and Dorothy Cobliegh of Delran, NJ; brother, Jack McLean of Jacksonville, FL; six grandchildren, Ashley, Kylie, Tyler, Joey, Brandon and Lexi.
Visitation will be from 2pm to 4pm, Monday January 1, 2007 at the Kays-Ponger Funeral Home, 635 E. Marion Ave, Punta Gorda. The funeral service will be at 11:00 am Tuesday January 2, 2007 at the Church of the Good Shepard, 401 W. Henry Street, Punta Gorda. Burial will follow at Venice Memorial Gardens. The family has requested donations be made in memory of Howard to the church.
