James William Francis

James W. Francis, 79, of Port Charlotte, FL, died Wednesday, May 11, 2022. He was born on October 18, 1942, in Washington DC to Vernon and Marian Francis, who preceded him in death. He and his wife moved to Port Charlotte, FL in 1984 from Maryland. Mr. Francis was a very giving person to family, friends and strangers. He loved animals but mainly dogs. In his younger years he enjoyed growing vegetable gardens, fishing and bowling. He is survived by his wife, Karen Francis. They had a long and loving relationship and marriage. Mr. Francis had 11 brothers and sisters of which three of them (one brother and two sisters) preceded him in death. There will be a Celebration of Life for Mr. Francis on his birthday. A celebration of life for James will be held Tuesday, October 18, 2022 from 5pm to 7pm at Kays-Ponger & Uselton Funeral Homes & Cremation Services, 2405 Harbor Blvd, Port Charlotte, FL 33952.
