He was born in Washington, DC on January 5, 1950, the son of Stanley & Patricia Pumphrey.
He graduated from Manatee High School, served 4 years In the United States Navy and retired, due to health, from Home Depot in Venice, FL where we worked as a member of the Met Team.
He enjoyed working on his vehicles and was known for keeping them spotless, not even driving them on a dirt road as well as traveling to Key West on a yearly basis with his wife.
He is preceded in death by his parents and his brother Kevin Pumphrey.
He is survived by his wife of 35 years Peggy Clowser Pumphrey, 3 step-sons, Christopher, David & Chadwick Warner, 10 grandchildren, 5 great-grandchildren, 2 brothers, Ron Pumphrey of Bradenton, Florida and Steven Pumphrey of Hahira, Georgia.
In lieu of flowers, donation can be made in his name to Tidewell Hospice House in Port Charlotte, FL.
Celebration of life will be announced at a later date.
