James Ernest Wightman III, 72, of Port Charlotte, FL passed away suddenly on March 27. He was born in Boston, Mass. on May 18, 1953.
Jim is survived by his beloved wife of 47 years, Carol (Punchard) Wightman of Port Charlotte, FL, his brother Michael Wightman (Marie) of Norwood, MA, his sister Janice Concannon (James) of Raynham, MA, his nephew Danny Frenette (Claire) of Plymouth, MA, and his niece Tilly Frenette of Carver, MA. He is also survived by many nieces, nephews, family and friends. He was especially close to is sister-in-law Cindy and her late husband Tommy Connerty of North Fort Myers.
James was preceded in death by his parents Jame Ernest Wightman Jr. and Frances (Johnson) Wightman of Boston, MA, and his sister Karen Frenette (Ronnie) of Hyde Park, MA.
Jim was a military veteran who served his country in the US Navy. He was also an avid Boston sports enthusiast who loved boating, fishing, golfing, and the beach in both Florida and in Maine. He retired from a long career with Verizon and worked many years at Johnstone Supply Company.
He will be especially remembered for his laughter, always the life of the party.
