

Jane M. Ambrosino of Punta Gorda, FL and formerly of Exeter, PA passed away peacefully after a brief illness on June 18 surrounded by her family and friends at the Hospice House in Port Charlotte, FL.
Jane was the daughter of the late Rose and Carmen Ambrosino, and she attended Exeter High School, graduating in 1962. She graduated from College Misericordia with a degree in elementary education and received her Masters degree in early childhood education from the State University of New York (SUNY). Additionally, Jane had a certificate of advanced study in school administration from SUNY Cortland and was certified in control theory Reality Therapy.
Jane worked in the Johnson City School District for over 30 years as a teacher, assistant principal, and principal. Because of her expertise in each of these positions, she became a nationwide consultant on the topic of teaching learning process and leadership skills needed for effective school culture. She travelled extensively throughout the United States presenting workshops and she positively impacted thousands of administrators, teachers, and most importantly children. Jane became a key national figure in enhancing and augmenting the educational process in schools nationwide.
Jane was extensively involved with her church, Sacred Heart, in Punta Gorda, Fl. Jane played a major role in the establishment of the church’s Road to Emmaus which is a ministry modeled after the Gospel of St. Luke that seeks to guide participants to encounter Christ, strengthen the parish family, and share the Good News of the Resurrection. In addition to her many charities, she was committed to St. Jude’s, Wounded Warriors, and the Shriners.
Jane loved traveling, hosting dinner parties for friends and family, and playing mahjong. What made Jane truly unforgettable was her energy, laughter, and sense of humor.
Jane is survived by brothers Carmen and his wife Bernice; Joe and his wife Toni; and numerous nieces and nephews. She is also survived by her longtime companion, Denzil (Denny) Collins.
There will be two masses and celebrations of Jane’s life; one at Sacred Heart Church in Punta Gorda, FL on Friday, July 10 at 11:00 am.
Another at Corpus Christi Parish in West Pittston, Pa. on Friday, July 24 at 11:00am. Visitation for Jane's West Pittston Celebration begins at 10:00 am.
