Jeannette was born in Queens, New York, the only child of George and Doris Walz. She was known as a bit of a tomboy, excelling in basketball and other sports, and enjoying boating with her father and her dog, Pinky.
Florida was Jeannette's home for the past 27 years, living in Southwest Florida most of that time. She loved traveling and even owned a travel agency in Cutchogue (Long Island), NY, before relocating to Florida. Once in Florida, she worked for Publix Supermarkets, Inc., cooking delicious recipes for the Apron Department, serving each customer with her ever-present smile. She enjoyed meeting new people and making them feel at home. This social spirit also lead her to be an active member of the Red Hat Society in Port Charlotte.
Jeannette cherished her many grandchildren and great-grandchildren, especially treasuring the time she was able to spend with Kristen's sons, Sean and Devin, as well as Sean's son, Bentley. She will always be remembered as a genuine, kind, loving and gentle soul, with a beautiful smile.
Besides her daughter Kristen, Jeannette leaves four other children, and a son who preceded her in death. She also has seven surviving cousins and a step-brother.
Kristen is especially grateful to the staff and volunteers of Tidewell Hospice in Port Charlotte, as well as other aides and nurses who cared for her in her later years. Arrangements are entrusted to Kays-Ponger & Uselton Funeral Homes & Cremation Services, Port Charlotte. A celebration of her life will be held at a future date
