Jerrold J. Cabral

Jerrold J. Cabral, 71, of Port Charlotte, Florida, passed away peacefully on September 5, 2026, following a long illness. He was born on November 14, 1954, in Acushnet, Massachusetts, to the late Manuel Cabral and Irene (St. Pierre) Cabral.

Jerry was a longtime resident of Rochester, Massachusetts, where he lived from 1976 until 2002, when he moved to Port Charlotte, Florida.

He worked as a scallop fisherman in New Bedford, Massachusetts, for 10 years before pursuing a career in carpentry. He was a hardworking man who took pride in his work and was always willing to lend a hand to those around him. He especially enjoyed helping neighbors whenever they needed assistance.

Jerry loved the Boston Red Sox and New England Patriots. He enjoyed spending time outdoors, working in the yard, and going fishing. Some of his favorite moments were the simple ones spent sitting on the porch with his beloved dog, Skruffy. He was known for his sense of humor and his ability to always find a way to joke around and make people laugh.

Above all, Jerry was a devoted husband, father, grandfather, and great-grandfather. He shared 52 years of marriage with his beloved wife, Linda (Ouellette) Cabral. He will be deeply missed by Linda; his children, Shane Cabral and his wife Amy of Port Charlotte, Florida, Jeremy Cabral and his wife Amanda of Ocala, Florida, and Katie Murray of Ossipee, New Hampshire; his 10 grandchildren; his 2 great-grandchildren; and many extended family members, friends, and neighbors whose lives he touched.

Jerry leaves behind a lifetime of memories filled with hard work, laughter, love, and helping others. His family will remember him not only for the years they shared with him, but for the little things that made him who he was—the jokes, the fishing, working in the yard, cheering on his favorite teams, and quiet days on the porch with Skruffy.

He will be loved, remembered, and missed every day.
