Joan Mary Warren Shepard

Joan was born in New York on April 4, 1945, to Leon and Mary Warren. She married Bob Shepard June 14, 1991. Joan was raised in New York, Virginia and Florida. She graduated from Charlotte High School in 1964 and continued to live and work in Charlotte County for 39 years. In 2002, Bob and Joan moved to North Carolina for a couple years to enjoy mountain life. They returned to Florida, to their current lake front home in Hawthorne, where Joan was most at peace enjoying the view and sounds.

Joan was a family oriented person and loved family gatherings. She enjoyed traveling, and her dogs. Most of all Joan was a fighter, as she struggled with numerous health issues. However, Joan always maintained her wonderful sense of humor. She was admired and respected by all.

Survivors include her husband, Bob Shepard, and his son Scott (Ellen); brothers Bobby (Mamie), David (Barbara), Michael (Deborah), Jerry (Susan), and Jimmy Warren; sister, Kathleen (Tony) Bell; and numerous nieces, nephews and cousins. Joan is preceded in death by her parents and Bob's son, Jay.

A memorial service will be at 4:00 PM on Saturday, November 2, 2013, at Kays-Ponger and Uselton Funeral Home, 635 East Marion, Punta Gorda, Florida.
