Joanne E. Grant, 80, of Venice, FL passed away July 26, 2016. She was born May 9, 1936 in Washington, D.C. and moved to Punta Gorda Isles in 1988. She and her husband had also lived at Bob Cat Trail in North Port before relocating to Jacaranda Trace in Venice in 2013.
She was a devoted wife, mother and homemaker to her husband and three children. She also assisted her husband in day-to-day business activities running his auto body repair shop in Rockville, MD. After moving to Florida, Joanne and her husband owned and operated a pack and ship business in Punta Gorda, FL. She will be remembered as a warm and friendly person who loved traveling, entertaining and spending time with friends and family.
She is survived by her husband of 62 years, Jon E. Grant, Sr., children Jon E. “Jack” Grant, Jr. of Bradenton, Julie Johnson of North Port, Jean MacArthur of Savannah, GA and beloved granddaughter Joanna Taylor of Savannah, GA.
A Memorial Service will be held Saturday, August 6, 2016, 1:00 pm at Jacaranda Trace, 3600 William Penn Way, Venice, FL 34293.
