John Richard Filimon, 72, passed away on Tuesday, February 4, 2025 in Port Charlotte, Florida. Born in Elyria, Ohio on June 26, 1952. He was a 1970 graduate of Elyria high school and worked for General Motors and Ford Motor Company before moving his family to Port Charlotte, Florida in 1982.
He survived by his daughters, Tracy Amend (Rick); Kelli Worobel (Steve); sister Helen (Filimon) Fisher; granddaughter Makenzie Morris; grandson Steven Worobel, sister-in-law Janet (Lesky) Walker; nephew Scott Walker (Ellen), nieces Libby Shibley and Marcie Kaepernik (Dan).
He had a deep faith in God, and was a member of the "New Life Church of Port Charlotte, Florida".
He was preceded in death by his loving wife, Kathy (Lesky); parents John and Joan (Crooks) Filimon and grandson Matt Morris.
A celebration of life will be held at later later date.
