John Patrick Guilfoyle

John P. Guilfoyle, 82, of Punta Gorda, FL passed away June 23, 2012. He was born October 14, 1929 in Brooklyn, NY to Patrick and Mary Guilfoyle. John attended the St Francis Preparatory School and graduated with a Bachelor's Degree from Brooklyn College in NY. He retired as a Senior Accountant for the Coca Cola Company and moved to this area over twenty years ago from Atlanta, GA. Locally, he was an active member of the Sacred Heart Catholic Church where he was an Usher at the 7:00 am Mass for twenty years and belonged to the Arimatheans. John was the Treasurer of the Isles Cove Condo Assoc for twenty years.

He is survived by his wife, Carole Guilfoyle of Punta Gorda; four step-daughters, Joyce (Blanche's daughter), Laurie, Christine and Aimee (Carole's daughters); sisters, Bridgit Hanniff of Redondo Beach, CA and Theresa McKenna of Tempe, AZ and several nieces, nephews, and great nieces and nephews. He was predeceased by his parents, two sisters, Regina Devane and Patricia Waters as well as his first wife, Blanche.

A Memorial Mass will be celebrated at 11:30 am, Tuesday July 3, 2012 at the Sacred Heart Catholic Church in Punta Gorda. A Graveside Service will be held on Saturday July 21, 2012 at the Gate of Heaven Cemetery in Valhalla, NY. In lieu of flowers, donations in memory of John may be made to Tidewell Hospice at tidewell.org.
