John Letizia, 86, of Punta Gorda, FL died April 9, 2009. He was born January 30, 1923 in Brooklyn, NY to Peter and Mary Letizia and moved to this area in 1985 from Jamesburg, NJ. He was a retired Carpenter with the Carpenters Local Union 1006 in Milltown, NJ. He was a veteran of the US Coast Guard and was a member of the American Legion. Mr. Letizia was an avid golfer and fisherman; he enjoyed motorcycles and playing the organ.
He is survived by his wife of 65 years, Annie Letizia of Punta Gorda, FL; children, Bonnie Henry DiSalvo of Wayne, PA; Debbie Letizia and Peter Letizia both of Punta Gorda, FL; Dominic Claudia Letizia of Toms River, NJ; grandchildren, Annie Louise Bara, Shawn Theresa Bara and Robin Lynn Bara; a niece, Mary Ann Cojocar of Royal Palm Beach, FL and her sons, Christopher, Keith and Jason.
A Memorial Service will be held at 11:00 am, Saturday, August 22, 2009 at the Kays-Ponger & Uselton Funeral Home, 635 E Marion Ave, Punta Gorda, FL 33950. In lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be made to Tidewell Hospice, 5955 Rand Blvd, Sarasota, FL 34238. Kays-Ponger & Uselton Funeral Home, Punta Gorda chapel, is in charge of arrangements.
