
John Bruce Macdonald passed away September 28, 2012 at Tidewell Hospice in Plantation, Venice, Florida. He was born August 7, 1947 in Vancouver, B. C., Canada. Bruce came to Englewood, Florida in 1958 and graduated from Englewood Elementary School, Venice High School, and FSU, Tallahassee, where he had earned a football scholarship.
He is survived by his three daughters, Jenny (Mark) Reiter, Heather (David) Pepin, Kenna Macdonald, and four grandchildren, Austin and Brandon Reiter, and Breyden and Farrah Pepin, also his mother Anne Macdonald (Bill) Trahan.
Bruce retired from IRS as an auditor, he had his own import business for many years in Florida, resided in Hawaii for some time dealing in imports. He was an ardent fisherman, and enjoyed boating and camping. He also loved football and coached softball and basketball when his daughters were in school sports.
Graveside services will be held at a later date in Pierson, Florida, where he'll be interred by his deceased son, Callum. In lieu of flowers, gifts may be made to Tidewell Hospice, 210 Wexford Blvd., Venice, FL. The family wishes to thank all his old friends for their cards and rememberances during this journey..
