

John Herbert Mulligan Jr., 86, of Jamestown, Rhode Island passed away on July 18, 2013 at the Douglas T Jacobson Veterans Nursing Home in Port Charlotte, Florida. He was born on April 23, 1927 in Warwick, Rhode Island, to John Herbert Mulligan Sr. and Bertha Meyers.
John was a World War II veteran who proudly served tours in both Germany and Austria for the Unites States Army as a radio operator and in the military police. After receiving the World War II Victory Medal and the Army of Occupation Medal, John was honorably discharged in 1947. John was a member of the American Legion Elmwood Post #60 and graduated from Bryant College in Providence, Rhode Island with a degree in Accounting and Finance. He held various accounting and management positions during his career, retiring from Rhode Island Hospital where he was the materials management manager.
He is survived by his daughter-in-law, Jenny Ash Mulligan of Punta Gorda, Florida and was preceded in death by his loving wife of 45 years, Marjorie Caranci, son, James Arthur Mulligan, brother, Arthur Mulligan and sister, Barbara Mulligan Cheurbino. Graveside Services will be Saturday October 19, 2013 at the Gate of Heaven Cemetery, East Providence, Rhode Island.
