

John P. Riley 70, of Englewood, Florida passed away peacefully in the loving arms of his wife Marianne. Jack was born in Fall River Massachusetts on August 18, 1940 to Franklin and Marguerite A. (Walsh) Riley.
He moved to the Englewood area in 2004 from Braintree, Massachusetts. In 1983 he retired from the Massachusetts Air National Guard as the 1st MSgt. of the 102nd C.E.F. an accomplished he was very proud of. For over 40 years Jack was Deputy Tax Collector in some of Massachusetts largest cities and smallest towns.
Jack was a member of the Braintree Elks Lodge, the Englewood Moose Lodge, Englewood Eagles and North Port Amvets and loved to visit the zoo. He was very active and involved in delivering over 1600 "Packages to the Troops" program.
The youngest of four brothers, Franklin K. Riley, Jr. of Chico, California and Robert E. Riley of San Rafael, California and predeceased by James J. Riley of Franklin, Massachusetts.
He is also survived by his wife, Marianne (Monti Sheehan) Riley; his son, John P. (Dina)Riley, Jr. of Braintree, Massachusetts; his daughter, Sheila (Riley Davidson)Merrill of Harts Location, New Hampshire; granddaughters, Julia Joyce Riley and Jessica Davidson and many favorite Nieces and nephews.
A memorial mass will be held on Monday February 7, 2011 at 10:00 a.m. at St. Raphael's Catholic Church in Englewood with burial to be in Sarasota National Cemetery with Military Honors.
