She leaves her partner, Ray Serewicz; two daughters, Elizabeth Sheahan of Herndon, Virginia and Bonnie Grise of Sunderland, Massachusetts; two grandchildren, Rachel Jackson and Zachary Sheahan; a brother, Fred Goodrow of South Carolina and two nieces.
Joy devoted her life to her family and was thought to be a true "joy" by both friends and family. She had a big heart and a wonderful sense of humor. She was an avid fan of the Boston Red Sox and the New England Patriots. She was a bocce champion in Tangerine Woods of Englewood for many years.
Funeral services will be held in Massachusetts at a later date. Donations can be made in her memory to Tidewell Hospice at 5955 Rand Blvd, Sarasota, FL 34238.
