Ms. Judith (Judy) Ann Sutherland of Port Charlotte, Florida died suddenly on January 30th at the age of 82. Judy was born to Robert and Mary Emch on June 23rd, 1942 in Morenci, Michigan.
A 1960 graduate of Morenci High School, where she played basketball, she joined the United States Army as part of the Women’s Army Corps in October 1960. Upon leaving the Army as a Private First Class, she became a stay-at-home mother until the late 1960s, when she entered the workforce in South Florida as a graphics printer and then pest control exterminator. Judy retired to Morriston, Florida, in 2004.
She was preceded in death by her parents and brother Charles Emch. She is survived by her brother Doug, children Hugh (Cristine) and Brian, grandchildren Zachary and Hunter Sutherland, and numerous nieces and nephews.
The interment with military honors will be at Bushnell National Cemetery in Bushnell, Florida, on a date to be determined.
