Julia Mae Martin, 62, of Punta Gorda, FL passed away October 17, 2011. She was born January 22, 1949 in Punta Gorda to Willie Major Felix and Corine (nee Brinson) Felix. She moved to Atlanta, GA in 1979 and worked for most her life as a Hair Stylist. She returned to Punta Gorda in 2006. Julia was of the Baptist faith and studied with the Jehovah's Witnesses.
She is survived by her children, Tillie Johnson of Port Charlotte, FL; Herbert Johnson of Atlanta, GA; Harvey Johnson of Ft Myers, FL and Barbera Johnson of Atlanta, GA; grandchildren, De'Jia, Tandre, Geremy, Duke, Bridgette, Lacretia, Precious, Kiarra, Asya, Brian and Brianna; two sisters, a brother and a host of nieces, nephews and extended family. She was pre deceased by her husband, Julius Martin in 2002.
There will be no viewing for Julia, but a Celebration of Life Service will be held at 2:00 pm, Saturday, October 22, 2011 at the Kays-Ponger & Uselton Funeral Home, 635 E Marion Avenue, Punta Gorda, FL 33950. The family will receive friends from 1:00 pm till the service time. Donations to assist with the service are being requested by the family, contact the funeral home for information.
