June Marie Nelson, 77, of Venice, FL formerly of Park Ridge, NJ, died June 6 at her home after a brave struggle with cancer. She is survived by her husband, Herb, of 58 years and their children Lynn, Janet, Gerard and Chris; also daughter-in-law Arlene Nelson. She is also survived by six grandchildren Christina, Diana, Michael and Daniel Nelson and Justin and Lauren Schneyer.
Raised in Brooklyn, NY, she met and married Herb in 1954. After moving to NJ, June directed all her efforts towards her growing family. Before retiring to Florida, June was a parishioner of Our Lady of Mercy R.C. in Park Ridge, NJ.
In retirement June enjoyed dining at many Venice restaurants with her favorite being lunch at the Crow's Nest where she could watch the boats on the water from her favorite Table 50.
She also took pleasure in trips to Ireland, England, Italy and Israel; and also took delight in Caribbean cruises where she could spend time in the ships' casinos.
