I never met Katarina but hope this may bring any comfort to your loss. I was living in an apartment very near to where this tragedy happened and was asleep at that time. I awoke to a very quick and sudden sound not knowing what occurred. It was dark and from my window could only see cars stopped and people running to help.  Immediately I began to say a prayer I've used many times "Calling All Angels."  I was a caregiver to my parents and too often had to revive my Dad from diabetic emergencies, and this is my prayer for help. When I learned what happened, I was very sad for a life ended too soon. Later, I had to move out of my apartment as I ran out of money due to cancer bills.
By coincidence, both of my parents are in the mausoleum next to Katarina. I visit them often and always stop to say a prayer for Katarina and especially for you, her family.
I was there yesterday for Christmas to remember my parents, and gave respect to this lovely young woman who you will always miss.
We may never meet, but I just want you to know that I am praying for your family. Having survived a rare blood cancer, I don't understand why things happen in life. GOD's plan is still a mystery to me, as I try to continue.  Maybe it's not how many days you live, but in how you live your days.

You will always hold a special place in my heart. You and I have shared so many laughs, secrets, memories, and love in this lifetime. I will always remember coming down to Florida for spring breaks that I loved spending with you. We always knew how to make each other laugh, you had such a shining personality. When we couldn't be together, we were in constant contact via texting and social media media. You were by my side the first time I swam in the ocean, the first time I went to Disney, the first time I went to SeaWorld, and the first time I came to Florida. I am so happy that you got to come up to Michigan and experience the snow, snowmobiling, sledding and our Christmas traditions. I wish I could have made more memories with you, but I'll always be grateful for the time I had with you in this life. I will carry you with me, until I see you again. 

Jeffrey, you may not remember me but you had serviced a plan for my Aunt Billie at Cape Coral. With that being said, I was so sad to read about your daughter, Katarina.  You were so kind and caring when helping me during a difficult time, I just want to return the same to you.  You and your family are going through your own very difficult time now and I want you to know that I care and pray for you all in hopes of peace.  Peace of mind, peace of heart!  Like with my Aunt Billie, you and your family will share laughs, love and lots of memories of your daughter! Lori I have written so much on Katrina I even have her own post. There is nothing I can do to take away your heartache. All I can say is that God asked for her as her father. He must have had a good reason to have her come home. I never had the privilege to meet her or work with her. She was a beautiful young woman who had her life cut short. God had his reason you won't know until he calls you. Take care of your other daughter that needs you and is to young to really understand. Your husband who not only lost his job and had to relocate for a new one now he lost his beautiful daughter. Katrina you are loved by a wonderful family may you be the light to help others in their transition.

We will never forget the times she made us laugh and her beautiful smile.  Julia has so many great childhood memories with her from sleepovers to trips to the mall. Never to be forgotten. Prayers to her family in this time of mourning.  May god give you strength. 

Katarina I dont know where to.start u were funny I remeber the first te we met u how much u loved to do the chow voice you know what im talking about we love u so much  we will always remeber your smile and laugh and u came up north and rode snowmobiles for the first time with your  cousins heather monica and jack  first time seeing snow I believe and we came down there last year and u did monicas make up for senior pictures that your mom did I cant thank u enough for helping us we love and will miss u forever rip beautiful angel

So many wonderful memories go through my mind when thinking of Kat...but a funny one that keeps jumping in was when she was just a little mini pageant girl, maybe 4,  and she was at the salon for me to get her little bun put in her hair and I was chasing her all around salon trying to get the bobby pins in.  She was way more interested in making faces in the mirrors and twirling around in her dress and fancy shoes.  Heaven has gained such a bright shiny star. 

My Dearest Daughter,
You were taken from me way to soon and I'll never understand why, but I know that my loss is Heaven's gain. I loved you so much and wanted the very best for you. I was so proud of the young woman you were blossoming into and so proud of your accomplishments. You will never know the void in my heart that is left and how much I will miss you. I love you my Angel and will forever love and miss you. You have no idea how many lives you have touched and influenced.
