
Katherine Kay Stewart, former Lebanon resident, wife and mother of two sons, transitioned August 22, 2018. Kay was born in Montezuma Ind. on September 16, 1943. She was the daughter of Harry L. Van Hook and Maude (Kennedy). She was one of a few that attended Whitestown schools from start to finish, graduating in 1961. She then graduated from Indiana Business College and held many executive secretarial and management positions. She married Gary A. Stewart on January 12, 1963.
Kay was an avid water person. She enjoyed boating, fishing and lazy days on the beach. She cherished traveling all over the U.S. and parts of Europe. She loved Christmas most of all. She spent her retirement, playing golf, Dominos and Ma Jong. She served in other capacities in the community, the Lebanon Jaycees, WGA president at Port Charlotte Golf Club, organizing golf outings for charities such as the Tidwell Hospice House, where she passed on to be with the Lord.
She is survived by her husband Gary and her two sons and their wives, Sean Stewart and Nicole Dixon, of Port Charlotte FL and Chad and Jolisa Stewart, of Clermont IN; granddaughter Ariel Stewart; great grandson Rease Stewart; step grandchildren, Reanon (Jeff) Latham of Lebanon and their children Jaren, Jalen and Jaden; Christopher Quante, Marie-Elise Coleman and Sophie Frech, Josie (Robert) Rodriguez and their children Jack, Oliver and Gwendolyn.
Her surviving siblings include sisters; Sue Randle of Cloverdale, Judy Massey, of Wisconsin and brother Norman "Sonny" Van Hook of Florida. She was preceded in death by her sisters, Phyllis Uhler, Mary Jackson, Nadine Halstead and brother Jim Van Hook.
It was Kay's request that any memorial contributions be made to the St. Jude's Research Hospital, 501 St Jude Place, Memphis TN 38105.
A Celebration of Life will be held September 16, 2018, 3:00pm at the Centenary United Methodist Church, 910 Fordice St. Lebanon, Indiana 46052.
