He was born October 21, 1943, in Hamilton, Ohio, the youngest child of Matt and Lula (Arvin)
Alcorn. Larry graduated in 1961 from Marion High School, Marion, Indiana.
He began working for General Motors in 1966 at the Fisher Body Plant in Kalamazoo, Michigan,
transferring to the Stamping Plant in Mansfield, Ohio, in 1989, and then retiring as a Superintendent in 1996.
Larry is survived by his loving and devoted wife Jacqueline Alcorn of Port Charlotte, FL;
his daughter Tami (Richard) Hooker of Chidester, AR; daughter Sherry Alcorn of Vicksburg, MI;
son Dean Alcorn of Fennville, MI; two step-children Ron (Krista) Moss of Chesapeake, VA and
Jennifer Newell of Ponte Vedra Beach, FL; grandchildren Kayla and Ryan Moss, Jared and Ethan Newell;
one sister Melva (Chuck) Franklin of Port Charlotte, FL; brother Lowell Alcorn of Greensburg, PA.
Larry wasn’t just a faithful husband, but his wife’s best friend, unwavering partner and
confidant. He loved his kids and grandkids in an irreplaceable, playful way that was unique only to him.
He was a true and loyal friend to those blessed to know him. Although a very private person, Larry
could always make you laugh with his mischievous sense of humor and that visible twinkle in his eye.
He loved travelling, boating and restoring antique and classic cars. He will be deeply missed by all
who knew and loved him.
