Lily Amore

Lily was born in Naples, italy on April 6, 1910 and moved to the United States when she was 9 years old. She married Alfred Amore on December 13, 1931. Lily was a seamstress for a wedding gown designer in the garment district in New York City.

Lily and her husband resided in Staten Island, New York for many years before retiring to Florida in 1971. She was a volunteer at Meadow Park Elementary School, where she taught many young children to read. She loved gardening; beautiful flowers were her favorite.

She is survived by her children, Doris Baldwin, Helen Montalbano, and Alfred and Patricia Amore, her 7 grandchildren, and 12 great-grandchildren. Lily was also fortunate enough to know her 2 great- great grandchildren.

Lily was preceded in death by her husband Alfred and her sister , Mary Nocerino.

A visitation will be held at Kays-Ponger Uselton Funeral Home in Port Charlotte on Wednesday March 16, 2011 from 2-4PM and 7-9PM. A funeral mass will be celebrated on Thursday March 17, 2011 at St. Charles Borromeo Catholic Church at 1:30PM Burial will follow at Restlawn Memorial Gardens.

In lieu of flowers donations may be made to St. Jude Childrens Research Hospital at 501 St. Jude place Memphis, Tennessee 38105.
