Linda Phyllis DeMello, 79, of Port Charlotte, Florida, formerly of Fairhaven, Massachusetts, passed away on October 16, 2026, surrounded by the love of her family.
Linda was a loving mother, grandmother, great-grandmother, and friend whose warmth, laughter, and beautiful smile touched the lives of so many. She had a way of making people laugh and feel loved; she was so much more than a mother — she was everyone’s “Ma.”
Family was everything to Linda. She would do anything for the people she loved, always putting her family first and making sure they knew how much they meant to her. Her smile and laughter could brighten a room, and her loving spirit brought people together. Some of the most treasured memories were made during family vacations, sharing time together and enjoying the adventures along the way. Linda especially loved cruising and creating special moments with the people who meant the most to her.
Linda is survived by her beloved daughters, Jennifer Grammatis (Dino) and Jessica Rourke (Rick). She also leaves behind her cherished grandchildren, Corbin Rourke (Leah); Camrin Rourke (Kaci); Alexander Kiesel; Caleb Kiesel; Nia Grammatis; Anthony Cabral; and Lauren Cabral. Her legacy of love continues through her great-grandchildren, Reece Rourke and Luella Rourke, who brought an extra special joy to her life.
Linda was preceded in death by her loving husband, Barry DeMello; her son, Jamie Cabral; her mother, Phyllis Cathcart; and her father, Courtney Patasini.
Linda will forever be remembered for her loving heart, her infectious smile, her laughter, and the way she made everyone feel like family. Although saying goodbye is never easy, those who loved her can find comfort in knowing that the love she gave so freely will never fade.
A private service will be held for the family. A Celebration of Life will take place on November 1, 2026, at 12:00 p.m. at Finnegan’s Grill and Pub in Port Charlotte, Florida. Family and friends are invited to come together to celebrate Linda’s life and honor the incredible woman who meant so much to so many.
In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to St. Jude Children’s Research Hospital in Linda’s memory.
Forever loved, forever missed, and forever our Ma.
