
Jean Osborn, 73, of Arcadia, FL passed away February 27, 2010. She was born July 15, 1936 in Dayton, Ohio and moved to this area 22 years ago from there. In Dayton, Jean worked for 30 years as a waitress at the King Cole Restaurant where she was proud that three generations of her family had been employed there. Locally, she was a waitress for 17 years at the Isles Yacht Club, and only retired in 2004 after the building was destroyed by Hurricane Charley. She was very dedicated to her family and had a loyal Christian heart.
She is survived by her husband of 52 years, Vernon Osborn of Arcadia, FL; children, Doug Hawn of Arcadia, FL; Naoma Bjorkgren of Pt Charlotte, FL; David Jan Osborn of Cincinnati, OH; Betty Jean Richard Rotering of Arcadia, FL; grandchildren, Stacey, Jennifer, Shauna, Mark, Tonya, Brandy, Aaron, Naoma Jean, Amber, Whitney and Lauren; many great grandchildren; sisters, Betty Schoening, Shirley Hewitt, Beverly Baker and Bonnie Crace. She was predeceased by her parents, her sister Dee Dee Wayman and a grandson, Scott Hawn.
The family will receive friends from 10:00 am till 11:00 am, Thursday, March 4, 2010 at the Kays-Ponger & Uselton Funeral Home, 635 E Marion Ave, Punta Gorda, FL 33950. The Funeral Service will follow at 11:00 am Thursday at the funeral home with the Rev Frank Vargo officiating. The family requests donations in memory of Jean be made to the Charlotte County Homeless Coalition, P.O. Box 380157, Murdock, FL 33938-0157.
