Louis Maggiore, 91, of Punta Gorda, died Wednesday, November 5, 2008. He grew up in Ohio and served in the Army during World War II in China and earned a Bronze Star. He married Philmena Monda and together they raised 3 sons. Louis believed in living up to and beyond your potential and instilled that motivational "can do" spirit in his children. The family enjoyed boating, tennis, and go-karting. He taught celestial navigation in the Power Squadron. He retired as a dental technician and moved from Hollywood, FL to Punta Gorda in 1976. Louis is survived by three sons, Joseph Maggiore and Larry Maggiore of Punta Gorda, Jay Maggiore of Panama City Beach, FL eight grandchildren, Matthew Maggiore, Paul Maggiore, Julie Maggiore Cronin, Michael Maggiore, Melissa Maggiore, Jamie Maggiore, Suzanne Beavers, and Casey Beavers, and six Great-Grandchildren.
