

Louise Thompson, a beacon of love and kindness, passed away peacefully on July 26, 2024, at the age of 73 in North Port, Florida. Born on October 25, 1950, in Shreveport, Louisiana, “Lou” - as she was known by her friends and family- had a vibrant spirit and nurturing soul that touched the lives of all who knew her.
Lou’s journey began in Shreveport, where her love for her Louisiana roots never waned, as she carried the joy of her hometown, the flavors of Cajun cuisine, and the love of crawfish and crab boils.
After meeting her beloved husband, Edward, in college, they embarked on a new chapter together, raising their family under the sunny skies of Florida.
A dedicated and compassionate registered nurse, Lou devoted her entire career to Shorepoint Hospital of Port Charlotte. She served as a Charge Nurse in the Emergency Department where her unwavering commitment to her patients earned her the respect and admiration of both colleagues and those she cared for. Her loving nature extended beyond her professional life, as she was a cornerstone of her family, cherishing every moment with her two daughters, Kimberly (Rick) Honore and Brittany (Rusty) Ayers, and her adored grandchildren, Chayse Honore and Addisyn Honore who were the lights of her life.
Lou’s spirit was characterized by her boisterous, playful, personality. She always brought the fun! She elevated game nights with creativity, infectious laughter and the best home cooking.
Louise was preceded in death by her husband, Edward, with whom she shared a lifetime of love and cherished memories.
Her legacy of love, spirited energy, and kindness lives on through her family and the countless lives she touched.
As we bid farewell to Louise Thompson, we celebrate a life lived with full-hearted generosity and warmth. Her memory will continue to inspire and guide us, reminding us of the power of a loving heart and the enduring bonds of family. Louise's life was a testament to the beauty of caring for others, and she will be deeply missed by all who had the privilege of knowing her.
Graveside Service will be held at Restlawn Memorial Gardens on Saturday, August 10th at 10:00 am followed by a Celebration of Life at 3608 Wenona Drive, North Port FL 34288
