Marion J. Martin 72, of Punta Gorda, FL died on June 3, 2009 in Port Charlotte. She was born on January 20, 1937 in Wide Mouth, WV and came to Punta Gorda in 1983 from Flushing, MI. Marion worked for the state of Florida at the Gulf Coast Center in Lee County, retiring after 15 years of service. For the last few years, she has worked part-time at Jo-Ann Fabrics. She was a member of the First United Methodist Church in Punta Gorda.
Survivors include her husband of 48 years, Edward Martin of Punta Gorda, FL; her two sons, Mark Michelle Martin and Matthew Martin both of Fort Myers, FL; daughter, Kara Martin of Punta Gorda, FL; her grandchildren, Joshua, Andrew, Hannah and Julia Martin all of Fort Myers, FL; sister, Elizabeth Victor Gillam of Westerville, OH; step-sister, Jean McKay of Flint, MI and step-brother, Gerald Laura Anderson of Eagle Harbor, MI.
