Mary Ann Kantor

Mary Ann Kantor, 81, of Punta Gorda, FL, formerly of Buffalo, NY, died Monday, April 25, 2011. She was born August 24, 1929 in Buffalo, NY to Walter and Helen Nowak. She was an alumna of Villa Maria Academy in Buffalo, worked in various administrative positions in Buffalo, and as Corporate Vice President and Secretary for Eastern Avionics International Inc. following her move to Florida in 1987. She was a member of the Sierra Club of SW Florida, the Catholic Alliance of Mature Singles, and the local Charlotte County Ovarian Cancer Support Group.

She is survived by her children, James and his wife Connie, of Punta Gorda; Very. Rev. Robert Kantor, of Naples; Luanne Tremblay and her husband John, of Wesley Chapel, and John Kantor and his wife Hilary, of Tampa. Five grandchildren, Lauren Tremblay, Jacob Tremblay, Elizabeth Kantor, Katherine Kantor and James Andrew Kantor. She is preceded in death by her husband Bernard.

The family will receive friends from 1:00 pm till 3:00 pm and 5:00 pm till 7:00 pm, Thursday, April 28, 2011 at the Kays Ponger & Uselton Funeral Home, 635 E. Marion Ave, Punta Gorda. A Vigil Service will be at 7:00 pm Thursday at the funeral home. A Mass of Christian Burial will be at 2:00 pm, Friday, April 29, 2011 at the Sacred Heart Catholic Church in Punta Gorda with the Very Rev Robert J. Kantor officiating. She will be interred at the St. Stanislaus Cemetery, Buffalo, NY at a later date.
