Born on February 26, 1947 in New York, NY, he was the son of the late Exum Sr. and Ceil Pike.
Michael led a diverse life full of adventure and whimsy. Following his graduation from Middletown High School in Middletown, RI in 1965, he briefly worked as a lumberjack in Oregon before joining the army, where he became certified as a respiratory therapist. After leaving the military, he went on to work an eclectic array of vocations including environmental technologist, car salesman, and art shop owner. Always one with a thirst for knowledge, he held bachelors degrees in Environmental Science and History.
Upon retirement, Michael spent his days eating sweets, visiting pawn shops, winning games of Trivial Pursuit, and watching his ever-expanding collection of DVDs.
In addition to his wife of 29 years, Michael is also survived by his brother Exum Pike Jr. of Jamestown, RI, his three daughters, Lyn Muckerheide and her husband Carl of Punta Gorda, Christine Anderson and her husband Shawn of Barrington, RI, and Natalie Pedchenko and her husband Edward of Exeter, RI, as well as several furry, four-legged grandchildren.
Funeral services will be held on Saturday, February 18 at 10:00 AM at Kays-Ponger & Uselton Funeral Home, 2405 Harbor Blvd, Port Charlotte, FL 33952.
