Gladys Lester Pressley 94, years old passed on to her Heavenly Home on August 2, 2015. She was born to Ed and Myrtle Lester on May 15, 1921 in Counsel, VA. She lived in Punta Gorda, Florida and also had a summer home in Bean Station; TN. Gladys was married to Everett C. Pressley on August 13, 1938.
She and Everett moved to Florida in 1961 they owned and operated Pressley’s Gulf Service Station in Charlotte Harbor, FL, where they annually received awards for being one of the top Gulf Service stations in the country, allowing them to travel extensively throughout the U.S and Europe they both retired in 1979. Gladys loved fishing, quilting, crocheting, and cooking for her large extended family.
She is survived by her Daughter in Law Sharon Pressley who was her caregiver. She also leaves her beloved grandsons, Lee (Dawn) Pressley, Jody (Dawn) Pressley and four great-grandchildren Hunter, Reaghan, Riley, and Grace Pressley all of Punta Gorda Fl, her sister Inis Bise of Mohawk TN, 3 sister in laws and many nieces and nephews who while growing up loved to spend time at Aunt Glad’s house.
Gladys was predeceased by her husband of 56 years, Everett Pressley her beloved son, Ronnie Lee Pressley an infant son Sammy Gene and an infant daughter Mary Ann.
