Owen Anders

Owen Anders 55 of Port Charlotte originally from Palatka, passed away on May 6th. He was the loving husband and father to Joanne (Murphy) Anders and their sons Christopher and James. He was the son of Owen James Anders and Peggy Cottle Kauffman. Owen is survived by his two brothers Alma Anders and his wife Tina, and Adrian Hutson. Two sisters Sandra Key and her husband Randy and Stacey Brooks. He also leaves behind many nieces, nephews and extended family members. Owen was a very caring man who gave so much to his community from Englewood baseball league, Pop Warner, Lemon Bay High School to many others behind the scenes acts of kindness. What was closest to his heart was his tradition of opening his restaurant to the community on Thanksgiving and feeding those in need and or did not want to be alone. This will be his legacy and will continue on. His greatest joy was his family and he loves spending time with them and all his �"sports kids”. A celebration of his life will be held on May 12th at the Englewood Events Center at 6:00 p.m. There will be a private viewing for the family at Lemon Bay Funeral Home followed by a funeral procession to the Event Center. In honor of Owen we will be sporting attire for his favorite team, The Florida Gators. Please come in blue and orange.
