Paul R. Schneider

Paul R. Schneider, 93, of Port Charlotte, FL passed away April 13, 2010. He was born July 14, 1916 to Emil and Anna Schneider in Clay, NY. Paul was a veteran of WWII, where he served in the African and European Theater in the US Army. He worked alongside his wife for over twenty years at the Clay, New York Post Office. They retired in 1978 to Punta Gorda from Clay. Paul was a member of the VFW Post 5690, the American Legion Post 110 and the St Vincent DePaul Society. He was the past President of the Charlotte Harbor Community League and attended San Antonio Catholic Church. He was an active volunteer for the American Cancer Society's Road to Recovery Program.

Paul is survived by his three sons, Paul T. Monika Schneider of Port Charlotte, FL; Robert F. Mia Schneider of Englewood, FL and Donald K. Jacky Schneider of Upstate, NY; two daughters, Judith David Willimah of Port Charlotte, FL and Helen Meiller of Punta Gorda, FL; eight grandchildren and eight great grandchildren. He was preceded in death by his wife of 64 years, Margaret Schneider in September of 2005.

The family will receive friends from 9:00 am till 10:00 am, Saturday, April 17, 2010 at the Kays-Ponger & Uselton Funeral Home, 2405 Harbor Blvd, Port Charlotte, FL 33952. The Funeral Mass will be at 11:00 am, Saturday April 17, 2010 at San Antonio Catholic Church, 24445 Rampart Blvd, Port Charlotte, FL. Burial with military honors to follow at Charlotte Memorial Gardens in Punta Gorda. In lieu of flowers, prayers would be appreciated.
