
Philip V. Ziska, 76, of Port Charlotte, Florida died Friday April 20, 2007 in Port Charlotte. Mr. Ziska was born on July 1, 1930 in Elmhurst, Illinois to George William and Dorothy Van Brunt Ziska. Mr. Ziska moved to Port Charlotte 15 years ago from Chicago, IL. He retired from R. R. Donnelley & Sons Company in Chicago after 33 years. He a member and past officer of the American Legion Post 103 and the V.F.W. Post 5690 both in Punta Gorda, he was a volunteer driver for the Charlotte County Veterans Council, past commandant of the Marine Corp League. Mr. Ziska was a veteran of the Korean War serving with the U.S. Marine Corps with rank of sergeant and served as Drum Major of the U.S. Marine Corps Drum and Bugle Band.
Survivors include his sister, Carol Ned Galloway of Menasha, Wisconsin; several nieces and nephews and many friends.
Memorial services will be held on Thursday May 3, 2007 at 11:00 AM at Kays-Ponger Funeral Home Port Charlotte Chapel with military honors by Marine Corps League.
Inurnment will be held at Restlawn Memorial Gardens at a later date.
