

She was born July 12, 1947, to parents Osvaldo and Antonia (Roman) Betancourt in the Bronx, New York City, NY. After relocating to Philadelphia, she graduated from Kensington High School in 1965 and then trained as a Nursing Assistant. Later in life she became a certified phlebotomist.
Polly was united in marriage to Frank Gervin May 25, 1968, and was blessed with two daughters, Polly and Nancy. They later divorced. She married Eugene (Gene) Burns on March 6, 1990.
Polly loved being a grandma and spending time with her grandkids in the backyard pool. She relished shopping for nothing in particular and, along with husband Gene, spoiling her Chihuahuas and Pomeranians. She was able to travel the world visiting her daughter, who served in the US Air Force, in Italy, Hawaii, Paris, and Salzburg.
She is survived by her daughter Polly Oetting (David); granddaughters, Erin Altobelli (Mark), Jamie Masters (Collin), Robin Pinedo (Caleb), and Samantha Parkinson; brothers James (Amy), Manuel (Emma) and Osvaldo (Wanda) Betancourt; and sister Antonia Betancourt.
Polly was preceded in death by her parents, her husband Gene, her daughter Nancy Parkinson, and her brothers Eduardo, Tony, Genero, Joseph, and Rafael Betancourt.
