Richard E. Galloway, age 83, of Port Charlotte, died February 15, 2009. He was born March 30, 1925 in Stuebenville, OH, the son of Charles and Mabel Adams Galloway. Richard moved to this area in 1962 from Stuebenville, OH. He served in the Army during WWII with the 9th Division 47th Infantry H Company. Richard's favorite hobby was gardening and he enjoyed music as well.
Survivors include; son, Scott Bickerstaff of Port Charlotte; daughters, Cindy and Kimberly both of Florida; nieces and nephews all of Ohio. Preceded in death by his beloved wife of 30 years, Nancy J. Galloway.
Visitation will be Saturday, February 21, 2009 from 12-1:30 pm at Kays-Ponger & Uselton Funeral Home Port Charlotte with funeral service following at 1:30pm. Internment will immediately follow service at Royal Palm Memorial Gardens Punta Gorda. Memorial donations may be directed to the American Cancer Society.
