Richard Albert Geiger, age 87, a resident of Port Charlotte, passed away on June 28, 2026. A Memorial Mass in his honor will take place at St. Maximilian Kolbe Catholic Church in Port Charlotte on Friday, July 17 at 11:00 a.m.
A native of New Jersey, Richard graduated from Rutgers University in 1961 and then proudly served as a Specialist 4th Class in the U.S. Army from 1962 to 1964. Upon retiring to Port Charlotte in 2004, following a long professional career in accounting/controlling, he became a devoted member of his local church and the broader community, as well as a passionate golfer.
He is survived by his partner, Sandra Nesbitt of Port Charlotte; his son and daughter-in-law, David and Michelle Geiger of Atlanta; Todd and Tammy Nesbitt of Lock Haven, PA; and granddaughter Ellie Nesbitt of Morgantown, WV.
Richard was the son of the late Albert Geiger and Helen Fardella Geiger. He was preceded in death by his son, Jonathan Geiger, as well as Denise Nesbitt Hutter.
Following the mass, Richard will be inurned at Gulf Pines Memorial Park in Englewood.
