Richard J. Hensley, 54, of Punta Gorda, FL died Sept 23, 2007. He was born May 14, 1953 in Ravenna, Ohio and moved to this area in 1997 from Cape Coral, FL. He was currently employed as a Sergeant with the Lee County Sheriffs Office. Richard was looking forward to retiring in May 2008 and moving to TN with his wife. He enjoyed bowling, fishing and working around his home.
He is survived by his loving wife, Coleen Hensley of Punta Gorda, FL; son, Christian Tania Hensley of Lutz, FL; step-son, Richard S. Taylor Jr of Virginia Beach, VA; father, Paul Hensley of Spring Hill, FL; grandson, Kyle Hensley; brothers, Leonard Hensley of Spring Hill, FL and Bradley Scott Peggie Hensley of St Cloud, FL; nephew Joshua Hensley and many good friends.
The visitation will be held from 10:00 am to 11:00 am, Thursday, Sept 27, 2007 at the First Baptist Church of Punta Gorda, 459 Gill Street. The funeral service will follow at the church at 11:00 am. Burial will follow at Royal Palm Memorial Gardens. The family has requested donations to the Cape Coral Caring Center, 4645 SE 15th Ave, Cape Coral, FL 33904.
