He was a retired commercial pilot and flight instructor before moving to the Englewood area from Enid, Oklahoma in 1998.
He was a member of the Veterans of Foreign Wars Posts in Rotonda West, Florida and Enid, Oklahoma and was a U.S. Navy veteran of the Korean War.
He is survived by his wife of 57 years Theresa Looney of Rotonda West; his son, Michael (Nancy) Looney of Englewood, Florida; his sister, Joan Steere of Phoenix, Arizona; his brother, Clark Looney of Bishop, California; 2 nieces and 3 nephews.
