Richard Leon Nulf, a man of unwavering spirit and boundless enthusiasm for life's adventures, passed away on February 10, 2026, in Arcadia, Florida at the age of 83. Born on November 12, 1942, in Ridgway, Pennsylvania, to the late Richard W. and Martha Nulf, Richard’s journey through life was marked by his dedication to family, his service to his country, and his love for the great outdoors.
After graduating from high school, Richard embarked on an adventure that would shape the course of his life. In 1968, he moved to Minnesota to attend business school, a journey initially intended to last only a year. However, the vibrant community and opportunities he found there captured his heart, and he chose to make Minnesota his forever home.
Before beginning his celebrated career in real estate, Richard proudly served his country for four years in the Air Force, a period of his life that instilled in him a deep sense of patriotism and camaraderie. In 1984, he entered the real estate industry, where he dedicated 28 years of his life, becoming a respected and accomplished figure amongst his peers and clients.
Richard was a man of many passions, earning the affectionate nickname "Mr. Fix It." His hands were skilled and always ready to repair whatever was broken, and his home was filled with every tool imaginable. An avid lover of the outdoors, Richard found solace and excitement in fishing, hunting, and golfing. He cherished family time, especially with his beloved wife of 59 and a half years, Elaine Carol Nulf, his oldest son Eric (Kim), and his children Haley (Dyllan) and Heather, his daughter Lita (James Neuman) Nulf, and her daughter Sarah. The joy of his later years was his great-grandson, Emmitt, and his cherished furbabies, Mingo and Turbo.
Richard's zest for life led him to enjoy many adventures, including annual cruises and trips to Vegas every February. His spontaneous nature was legendary, exemplified when he announced his retirement at 64, declaring to Elaine, "I'm going to Florida, you better put in your notice if you are coming with me." True to their adventurous spirit, the couple embraced the snowbird lifestyle for 14 years, journeying to Florida each year after Thanksgiving and returning to Minnesota in mid-May to escape the winter chill.
Described as handy, adventurous, and generous, Richard's legacy is one of unwavering support, love, and a readiness to embark on life's next adventure. His absence will be deeply felt by all who had the privilege of knowing him, and his memory will be cherished in the stories told and retold by those he leaves behind.
Richard's journey through life was marked by courage, love, and an ever-present willingness to lend a hand or share a laugh. As we remember him, we celebrate a life well-lived, a man well-loved, and a spirit forever etched in our hearts. Richard Leon Nulf's story does not end with his passing but continues in the lives of those he touched and the unwavering love that endures.
