Rita was born in Kalamazoo, Michigan to Clarence and Dorothy Kelly on Thanksgiving Day, November 26, 1942.
Rita had a very active life. She worked hard and played hard. She was always there to lend a helping hand. She cultivated many special friendships.
Rita raised her family in the Kalamazoo area and after retiring from WMH Fluidpower moved to Florida. She loved the ocean, dominoes, golf, and the Florida life.
She was preceded in death by her husband Robert Cox and her son Michael Carter. She is survived by her daughter Kimberly Carter, son-in-law Kevin Ray, Granddaughter Chelsea Ray, brothers Ken and Ray, sisters Pat and Carla, many special nieces and nephews, and many, many wonderful friends and neighbors.
The family would like to thank Tidewell Hospice and the wonderful women at Granny Nannies who made such a difference in the final days.
