Robert “Doc” A. Brehmer, 72, of Punta Gorda, passed away on Thursday, October 31, 2024, at HCA Florida Fawcett Hospital in Port Charlotte, FL.
He was born May 11, 1952, in Hammond, Indiana, the son of Robert A. Brehmer and Norma R. (Wheeler) Toda.
Robert was a die-hard Chicago Bear fan and proudly served in the United States Navy. Although he had a hard time showing it, he loved his family.
He is survived by his son, J.R. (Wendy) Brehmer; his two daughters, Kimberly Brehmer and Jamie (Dan) Corn; his stepdaughter, Lori Jasper and his stepsons Mark (Lisa) Walker, Joshua Walker, and Creston Johnson; his brother Ron Brehmer, his two sisters, Leah Kasley and Debra (Clifford) Gilham, and his sister-in-law, Becky Brehmer. He is also survived by nine grandchildren, Brenden, Isabella, Olivia, Zoe, Sienna, Tiffany, Sarah, Emily, Allyssa; and five great-grandchildren. Robert leaves behind numerous extended family members and friends.
Robert was preceded in death by his parents and his wife of 13 years, Lavana “Sue” Brehmer.
